Two cyber experts from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo’s California Cybersecurity Institute will talk about recent cybersecurity threats and how businesses can reduce their online risks in this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.  

Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by Bill Britton, CIO and Vice President of Information Technology and Director of the California Cybersecurity Institute (CCI) at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and Henry Danielson, technical advisor at CCI. They will discuss the online threats faced by individuals and businesses, cybersecurity best practices, and how to reduce the risk of ransomware and other challenges. 

Kelly will begin the webinar with information on capital funding, updates on remaining available government pandemic relief programs, and small business recovery tips. 

Britton has more than 30 years of experience in IT leadership, cybersecurity, space, and defense. He was first introduced to cybersecurity during his 20-year career as an Intelligence Officer and Electronic Warfare Officer in the United States Air Force.    

Danielson has expert knowledge in Cybersecurity/Computer Security and holds several cybersecurity certifications. He is also the IT Director at Coast Unified School District. 

Questions from attendees will be taken during the live webinar.
