This week we take a look at changes to the BCARES grant program that is now open to businesses in the city limits of Bakersfield and received PPP or Kern Recovers funding. We’ll also have updated information and guidance on PPP forgiveness forms, tips, and ideas of effectively managing your PPP and maximize the amount forgiven. There will also be updates on the Economic Disaster Injury Loan Program, local COVID-19 trends, Kern County’s status under state guidelines, Kern Recovers, and the City of Wasco Relief Grant program.

Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by special guest Lani Lott, of LL Consulting.

Is your primary customer a visitor or tourist? Or is your secondary market consumers visiting your community and stop at your business along their way? If you answered yes to either of these questions, COVID-19 has probably played havoc on your business model.Lott will highlight some of the national and statewide trends the travel industry is seeing in how visitor market behaviors and travel preferences are evolving as the pandemic continues. She’ll share some successful ways businesses have pivoted during these times. She’ll also talk about how “Visit California,” the state’s official tourism commission, is tracking data using four key indicators that include travel readiness and consumer sentiment, California activity snapshot, lodging, and air travel indicators.

Questions from attendees will be taken.

This is the 34th in a weekly “Webinar Wednesday” series that provides pandemic relief updates on available federal, state, and local funding options, tax credit programs, employee programs, and other opportunities for employers and business owners.
